Hey everyone! So todays blog post is going to be a shorter one and it’s all about how I take care of my bangs right after I wash them and also when they are second day hair or on days when I don’t have enough time to wash my hair, I know we’ve all had those days! All products used in this blog post will be linked below.
To start this off, after I finish showering and washing my hair I usually towel dry my hair a little bit and then put product in, which I use Bed Head’s “Control Freak; Frizz Control & Straightener Serum”. I put a small amount in my hand, probably the size of a pea, and then I just work it through my damp hair and then comb my hair out and comb my bangs forward. Next I usually brush my teeth or pick out my clothes to let my hair air dry a little bit and then after that I take my blow dryer, put it on high warm heat and blow my bangs in a downward motion while moving the blow dryer to the sides of my bangs every once and while and then blowing them back down (see picture below), this usually only takes a minute or so until my bangs are fully dry, then I turn the heat up to hot and blow dry the rest of my hair with my brush. Sometimes I will straighten my hair afterwards with my straightener but most of the time I just blow it dry and I’m done!
How I style my second day hair is a little different and probably not that different to how you would style yours if you didn’t have bangs except, I added a tool I’ve never used with my hair before, I use a toothbrush! Yep that’s right, a toothbrush and no its obviously not a used a toothbrush! So for my second day hair, my bangs are usually a little greasy looking just because my skin is oily and I slept on my bangs, so I will take my favorite dry shampoo and just a cheap toothbrush and spray the bristles of the toothbrush with the dry shampoo and then I start at the roots of my bangs and brush downward, sometimes after I finished my bangs I’ll even take the toothbrush and brush my roots if I notice that they are a little oily as well! I honestly thing using a toothbrush to spread dry shampoo through your hair is very smart and I’m sad I just found out about it when I got my bangs back in January! You don’t get left over dry shampoo residue on your fingers and also, I think it blends in the dry shampoo better than your fingers do!
