Yep! You read that right! Who would've thought a few months ago I would've been writing a "Quarantine Guide"? Definitely not me, and I really hope this is all over very soon! But until then enjoy this list of a few ideas I have come up with for things to keep you busy during quarantine!
- Get outside! It’s been super nice here in Ohio, of course when we are all quarantined Ohio actually decides to have a Spring. But since it’s so nice my dad and I have been walking our dogs or going for bike rides every day!! It really does make a difference in your mood when you get to be outside, even if it’s just for 15-30 minutes, it can really turn your day around and make being in quarantine not so bad! Just make sure when you see other people you still keep that 6ft distance!
- Get creative!! Now I know everyone says they don’t have a creative side, but I don’t always think that’s true! Being creative doesn’t mean you have to draw or paint. To get creative you can literally make dinner, or a box dessert! You can paint your nails, make a fun cocktail with any alcohol you have in your house, if you are of the legal age of course! You can even just take some fun photos of your dogs or whatever you see around you, and you don’t need a fancy camera for that, you have one right in your pocket or even in your hand as you’re reading this! My thing I’ve been doing for getting creative is doing a self-timer photoshoot every day this week and I’ve been loving it! (I’ll make a blog post about that next week).
- Get your Pinterest on! One of my favorite things I like to do on Pinterest is look up dinners to make with just the ingredients I have in my house! My dad bought a whole bunch of chicken lately, so instead of making the same chicken dishes we usually have I looked up “Simple and Easy Chicken Dinners” and thousands of results popped up! So far, we have tried the Chicken Pot Pie Casserole which was AMAZING (I’ll link that here) and the next dinner we are going to try is the Chicken and Rise Casserole and I’m very excited (I'll link that here)! But looking for food ideas on Pinterest doesn’t have to be jus dinner, I also have a board for desserts and appetizers!
- Movie Marathon! Being stuck at home doesn’t have to be all bad! This is the perfect time for you to start watching all those movies you’ve been wanting to watch but always say you never have the time. For example; All of the Avengers movies, Harry Potter, Fast and the Furious, Twilight, Hunger Games, Star Wars and what my dad and I are going to start, The Lord of the Rings! (My dad has seen them all but I have not). There are so many choices of different movies marathons you can start! And they don’t have to be a series, you could do a Disney movie marathon and just go to town on Disney+!
- Read the Book! Yep you know what book I’m talking about! The one you bought oh so long ago but again just never had the time to read it! Well now you probably do. And reading is so good for you! I read the book I’m on right now almost every night!
- Re-Decorate or Organize! Both have these have happened or are happening in my house! I have Re-Decorated my office 3 times so far and I still have more I want to do but it’s just so much fun!!! That’s another thing Pinterest is great for!! Organizing can be made fun as well! You can buy some pretty inexpensive but cute organizing containers on amazon for all different kinds of Knick knacks, so then you never have to leave the house and be in contact with anyone!
- My last piece of “advice” for you is to Zoom or facetime or Skype or whatever app you like to use, with your friends and family! I had a virtual girls night with my best friends a few weeks ago and it was so much fun!! And then my family is planning on doing a virtual game night together where we all facetime each other and see what board game we all have the same of, which I’m pretty sure it’s going to be Life, and we just play it like we normally would if we were all together!
Well there you guys have it! That’s my Quarantine Guide for you all. I hope you found some of this useful and decided to try one or a few things on this list! This is a very strange and kind of scary time we are living in right now but if we all listen to what the people higher up are saying and follow all of the rules we are being given then we should be able to fight this and go back to normal in no time! Remember; Wash those hands and keep your distance! Stay safe everyone!
Positive vibes. Positive Mind.
